Northgate Mall was the first enclosed mall in Saskatchewan opening its doors on November 16, 1965. Northgate Mall had an addition in 1977, a modest renovation in 1988, and a major re-development in 1998. Additional renovations were done in 2002, which included a racetrack common area layout, when Zellers was added to the mall. Sitting on 25 acres of land, the mall is 395,000 square feet and has 1800 parking stalls. In addition to the three anchor tenants, Zeller, Shoppers Drug Mart and Safeway, there are over 73 retailers at Northgate mall, as well as a freestanding 6,500 square foot Bank of Montreal.

Primary trade area has a population of 194,971 with an average annual income of $72,200. Secondary trade area spanning approximately 100 km North, North East, and North West of Regina has a population of approximately 41,386 with an annual average income of $68,020.
